Who is Sonim?
Sonim Technologies makes rugged phones for people who work in the field. The two Sonim models we sell are rated IP68, IPX9K and MIL-STD-810H and survive 6.5 ft drops onto concrete, and both carry Class I Division 2 non-incendive ratings. Zello lists the Sonim XP Pro on its hardware page. We supply each Sonim phone set up for our managed Zello service.

Two models: the XP5plus, which handles like a radio with physical knobs and a big PTT button, and the XP Pro, an ultra-rugged 5G smartphone with a 6.58-inch screen. Each ships with Zello Work signed in, the PTT button mapped and the phone enrolled in device management.

Every Sonim phone works with Core and Plus
Pick the phone for the job, then pick the plan. Managed Zello Core is $24.95 per user per month: push-to-talk, live location, our managed Zello network, enterprise device management and a multi-carrier SIM and data plan. Managed Zello Plus is $34.95 and adds Emergency Alerts, transcription, translations, AI Digests and a searchable Message Vault archive. No minimum, no lock-in. Add a Zello Dispatch Hub seat for $19.95 per dispatcher per month. Because these are phones, they can also take our unlimited talk, text and data plans: $64.95 per user per month with Core or $74.95 with Plus.

Which Sonim phone should I choose?
Choose the XP5plus if your team mainly talks. It has a dedicated PTT button, physical volume and channel knobs and a 2.8-inch screen. Choose the XP Pro if people also need a full smartphone. It has a 6.58-inch glove-friendly screen, a programmable PTT button and an SOS key.
Are Sonim phones safe around fuel and gas?
We do not offer an intrinsically safe radio. The Sonim XP Pro and XP5plus rugged phones run Zello and carry Class I Division 2 non-incendive ratings. Suitability is assessed per site against your area classification.
Do Sonim phones work with Managed Zello Core and Plus?
Yes. Every Sonim phone we sell can run either plan. Managed Zello Core is $24.95 per user per month and Managed Zello Plus is $34.95. Core covers push-to-talk, live location, our managed Zello network, enterprise device management and a multi-carrier SIM. Plus adds Emergency Alerts, transcription, translations, AI Digests and a searchable Message Vault archive.
Can a Sonim phone also be our phone line?
Yes. Rugged phones can take Managed Zello Core or Plus with unlimited talk, text and data, at $64.95 or $74.95 per user per month. Unlimited plans are not available on two-way radios.
Do the phones arrive ready to use?
Yes. Before it ships, we enroll each phone in device management, install and sign in Zello Work, map the PTT button, assign its user and channels, and install the SIM.
