Integrated Radio comparison cover: Public safety PTT platforms vs Managed Zello: a 2026 guide

Public safety PTT platforms vs Managed Zello is mostly a question of who you serve. Tait TeamPTT, BK InteropONE and Tango Tango are shaped largely around radio-heavy organizations and first responders, and Azetti’s site centers on operators and partners. If you run a private business team, we recommend Managed Zello, which is Zello Work fully managed by Integrated Radio, with full enterprise MDM on every device and multi-carrier LTE coverage, SIM and data plan included. We sell it, so weigh that. Zello is not a replacement for a public-safety primary radio system, and agencies should look at these specialists first.

Azetti Networks does not fit in this table because it publishes no US price or US commercial terms. We cover it below.

What we checked for each one

All four are still shown on their makers’ websites as of November 2026. How much you can buy in the US, and on what terms, varies a lot. Here is what each source says.

Tait TeamPTT

Tait TeamPTT connects radio, cellular and Wi-Fi users on one service, and Tait says it is provided in partnership with ESChat. Tait publishes one data sheet for public safety and another for all industries. Its page cites utilities among its customer stories, including Talquin Electric in Florida.

Its strength is the link to Tait LMR. It connects to P25 trunked systems via ISSI, DMR Tier 3 via AIS, and any Tait analog or digital network through 4-wire gateways. Tait offers it on Android, iOS, Windows PC and its own AXIOM Wearable, hosted in the cloud or on your own servers. Prices are by request.

If you already own Tait radios, start here. If you do not, much of the value is out of reach.

BK Technologies InteropONE

BK Technologies launched InteropONE in 2022 as a PTToC service for first responders. An incident commander can create a talkgroup from a smartphone and invite people from other agencies, with no pre-provisioning or gateways. BK’s own materials describe it in terms of mutual aid and incident response.

BK’s published service agreement, dated August 2025, shows real numbers. A Primary user is $300 per year, a Standard user is $60 per year, and a guest pass is $10 for up to 30 days. Bundles and enterprise tiers are also listed. Customers commit to a service plan for one year and supply their own telecom service and hardware unless the order says otherwise. Check that these terms still apply before you budget.

In August 2026, BK licensed the InteropONE technology to Tango Tango. Its Q2 2026 report also mentions successful initial field testing of BKRplay tethering with BK radios. InteropONE solves a specific incident problem, and a daily business radio replacement is a different job.

Tango Tango

Tango Tango is the one here that a business reader may seriously consider. Its site describes a response platform for public safety and education, and it also has a page for security teams and churches. BK’s press release says it serves more than 1,500 public safety agencies, while Tango’s site says 2,000+ agencies.

The pricing is unusual and worth a look. Plans are a flat annual fee for unlimited users: Respond at $495, Dispatch at $1,495 and Command at $2,495, for organizations under 1,000 full-time employees. A radio integration channel is $1,500 per year, and an LTE radio is $24.99 per month, paid annually on a 3-year agreement, with hardware and LTE included. A large crew on its own phones can pay very little.

The trade-off is in who does the work and how the product is shaped. Tango’s page says admins add and remove users from a web console, and volunteers install the app after an email invite. Features like CAD feeds, tone paging and hydrant maps show who it was built for. We did not see MDM mentioned on the pages we checked.

Azetti Networks

Azetti Networks, listed on its site as Azetti Networks Corp Panama, sells a PoC server and a mission critical PTT option following 3GPP standards. Its product page talks about operator integration, billing records, multi-domain hosting and web administration. It names TiGo, São Paulo Metrô, Vodafone and Cable & Wireless as clients, and it is seeking distribution partners around the world.

That reads as a platform aimed largely at carriers and partners. We found no published US pricing, US reseller or US commercial terms on its website, so ask for a quote if you need one. A US ops manager looking for radios next month is unlikely to start here.

Which business teams are better served by Managed Zello

These platforms answer agency questions such as CAD feeds, P25 links and mutual aid. Most private teams have a simpler list. They want radios that work on day one, channels that match their org chart, and someone to call when a guard quits and needs removing. That is where we think Managed Zello fits best.

  • Security companies: Guard rosters change constantly, and we handle moves, adds and changes. Location, status and battery come with Zello Work, and Plus adds breadcrumb history.

  • Construction and agriculture: Crews spread across sites need LTE where the site actually has it. A multi-carrier SIM helps, and our free coverage check tells you before you buy.

  • Hospitality and facilities: Seasonal staff and shared devices are where MDM pays off. We map the PTT key, lock down apps and can remotely lock, wipe and locate a device.

  • Logistics and manufacturing: Dispatchers can use Zello Dispatch Hub for a shared call queue and analytics at $19.95 per dispatcher per month.

  • Education and municipal non-emergency crews: Maintenance, grounds, transport and public works get a private network without a radio system to run. Compare our industries page with your own use. Agencies with sworn or fire staff should keep their primary radio system.

Who does the setup, and what about MDM and carriers

All of the above comes down to one difference in the service model. Integrated Radio does channel design and setup, user provisioning and naming standards, roles and permissions, and ongoing administration. Enterprise MDM covers enrollment and policies, app controls, Wi-Fi configuration and the PTT key per device.

Every plan also includes a multi-carrier SIM and data plan. FCC data shows 99.6% of Americans live where at least one mobile network offers 4G LTE, but your sites are what decide it, as this coverage guide explains. Devices arrive charged, labeled and signed in, and our store has radios from $199. If you have existing radios, a radio gateway is scoped per site and quoted separately.

When Tait TeamPTT, BK InteropONE, Tango Tango or Azetti might fit better

  • You are a police, fire or EMS agency that needs a tool built around that work.

  • You own Tait radios or P25 and DMR systems that need standards-based links. Look at Tait.

  • You need on-demand talkgroups with people from other agencies during incidents. Look at InteropONE.

  • You have a large group on their own phones, a tight budget and someone to run it. Look at Tango Tango.

  • You are a carrier or distributor outside the US market building your own PTT service. Look at Azetti.

Our recommendation

For a private business team, our recommendation is Managed Zello. Choose Core at $24.95 per user per month for live voice, unlimited channels, location, texts and photos. Choose Plus at $34.95 for AI Digests, Transcription, Translations, Message Vault and Emergency Alerts with location. Emergency Alerts are not a substitute for 911 or code-required life-safety systems.

There is no minimum and no lock-in. Request a quote and we will start with a free coverage check of your sites.

FAQ

Can Zello replace a police or fire radio system?

No. Zello is not a replacement for a public-safety primary radio system, and Zello Emergency Alerts are not a substitute for 911 or code-required life-safety systems. Agencies should use platforms and radio systems built for that work.

How much does Tango Tango cost?

Tango Tango lists flat annual plans at $495, $1,495 and $2,495 with unlimited users, for organizations under 1,000 full-time employees. Radio channels and LTE radios cost extra.

What is BK InteropONE?

InteropONE is a BK Technologies service that lets a first responder create a talkgroup from a smartphone and invite others, without gateways. BK’s August 2025 agreement lists user prices of $60 and $300 per year and a $10 guest pass.

Is Tait TeamPTT available in the US?

Tait’s site still lists TeamPTT, offers it by pricing request and cites a Florida utility among its customer stories. Prices and US terms are not published, so ask Tait for a quote.

Is Azetti sold in the US?

We did not find US pricing, resellers or terms on Azetti’s website. It describes itself as a provider to companies and mission critical users and is seeking distribution partners.

Which push-to-talk is best for a private security company?

We think Managed Zello is a strong fit for private security, because Integrated Radio runs the network and MDM for you. Teams that work under a public safety agency’s system should confirm their requirements with that agency.
