It is sealed to IP68 against dust and immersion and rated for a two-meter drop, which is the difference between a radio that survives a fall from scaffolding and one that does not. Where it fits, and how it arrives
The IR-700Y is for sites where a radio will be dropped, rained on, submerged or left on a dashboard in July: construction, demolition, industrial plants, outdoor security patrols, utilities and field service. It is sealed to IP68 against dust and immersion and rated for a two-meter drop, which the IP54 handhelds in the range are not, and it keeps working from -4°F to 131°F. If a crew has already broken consumer radios or cracked phones, specify this unit rather than the lighter IR-350. Hazardous-area work around fuel or gas needs the IR-700UL instead, which carries the intrinsic-safety certification this radio does not.
A typical IR-700Y deployment is a set of handhelds per crew or per vehicle, delivered charged and labeled with the crew's talk groups already loaded, plus a dispatch screen in the site office or head office. Each unit ships with charger, battery, belt clip and antenna. LTE bands B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B13, B25 and B26 cover the major US carriers, and we validate the specific carrier and SIM for your sites before the order ships.
