The IR-80 is the terminal for fleets that dispatch work as well as talk: field-service vans, municipal public-works trucks, towing and recovery, waste collection and regional delivery, where the driver needs a map, a job list or a form on a screen big enough to use with gloves on. The 7-inch capacitive touchscreen sits in the cab on a bracket, runs on vehicle power and pairs push-to-talk with the same dispatch platform the handhelds use. Fleets that only need voice should choose the simpler IR-50.
IR-80 deployments are planned per vehicle with our sales engineers, because the options matter: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, expandable storage to 128 GB and RFID are all optional and confirmed per order. Each unit ships with its mounting bracket, provisioned to the vehicle and its talk groups; installation is quoted separately where fitting is required. It is rated from -13°F to 158°F, so it can live in an unheated cab year-round.
